Eating in Thailand

If you are also fond of going Thai, aromatic curries and wok dishes, then you’re in paradise in Thailand. The best thing about food in Thailand is the fact that you can feast on it for no money.

The street food stalls are controlled by the government to guarantee their hygiene. That way you can eat all those goodies in the streets without any risk.

Some of the dishes you absolutely should not miss during your tour through Thailand are:

Crisps in all colours of the rainbow (red, yellow, green), as well as the wonderful massaman curry (with potatoes and peanuts).
Tom kha gai: a taste bomb. This hot-sour coconut soup with chicken will quickly become your favorite. Its counterpart, tom yum (or yam) is made with fish, without coconut.
Laab or larb is an unknown but unloved dish. It is made with puffed rice, lime, fish sauce, chilli and minced meat (from pork, chicken or duck) and finished with mint. The result is an addictive tasty combination.
Khao soi is a speciality of the north of the country (in Chiang Mai in particular). Cooked and crispy noodles are combined in this brilliant curry soup.
When you walk around at one of the fun night markets, the water is already in your mouth and that is not in the least thanks to the delicious satay that are prepared with a special marinade.
Sweet tooth pieces are also pampered, not least with the mango sticky rice. There is both a sweet (egg yolk) and salty (coconut) variant and both are addictively delicious.
